Mom: "What's up?"
Me: "Hey mom- I'm working on editing application essays that are due tomorrow for one of my students, and I'm basically behind in like every aspect of my life right now."
(pause)
Mom: "Is this new for you?"
Me: "I'll talk to you later mom."

That took a whole minute?
1) The phone company will count it as a minute.
